- Incoming POP3 server: mail.agtelco.com
- Outgoing SMTP server: smtp.agtelco.com
- Username and Password are case sensative. Must be all lowercase.
Create an E-mail account using Outlook Express
- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools, and choose Accounts...
- Click the Mail Tab
- Click the Add button and choose Mail...
- Enter the Display name of your choice, and click the Next button. (The display name is how your name will appear to recipients in their inbox.)
- Enter your E-mail address, and click the Next button
- Make sure that POP3 is selected for your incoming mail server
- Enter mail.agtelco.com for the field labeled Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server
- Enter smtp.agtelco.com for the field labeled Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
- Click the Next button
- Enter the Account name (This is the first part of your E-mail adress. Ex. accountname@agtelco.com)
- Enter your Password
- Click the Next button
- Click the Finish button
Create an E-mail account using Windows (Vista) Mail
- Open Windows (Vista) Mail
- Click Tools, and choose Accounts...
- Click the Add.. button
- Make sure "Email Account" is selected and click on Next button.
- Enter your "Display Name". (This is your full name as you would like it to appear when you send messages to other people.) Then click Next button.
- Enter your E-mail address, and click the Next button
- Select POP3 from the list of server types
- Enter mail.agtelco.com for the field labeled Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server
- Enter smtp.agtelco.com for the field labeled Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name
- Click the Next button
- Enter your E-mail username (This is the first part of your E-mail adress. Ex. username@agtelco.com)
- Enter your Password (You may check the box labeled 'Remember password' if you prefer)
- Click the Next button
- Click the Finish button
Create an E-mail account using Windows 7
- Please note that Windows 7 does not come pre-installed with an E-Mail client. You can download the newest Windows Live Mail client here.
- After downloading has completed, click on the start menu and locate the Windows Live folder, and choose Windows Live Mail. The new account wizzard should open automatically.
- Enter your E-Mail address
- Enter your password
- Enter your "Display Name". (This is your full name as you would like it to appear when you send messages to other people.)
- Check the box that reads "Manually configure server settings for e-mail account."
- Click the Next button
- POP3 server should already be chosen, but if not, choose POP3 from the dropdown list
- Enter mail.agtelco.com for the field labeled Incoming server
- Enter 110 for the Port
- Leave the box unchecked for this server requires a secure connection (SSL)
- Enter smtp.agtelco.com for the field labeled Outgoing server
- Enter 25 for the Port
- Leave the box unchecked for this server requires a secure connection (SSL)
- Uncheck the box reading My Outgoing server requires authentication
- Click the Next button
- Click the Finish button
Outlook Express is asking for your username and password, but had not previously
Check your username and password, and verify that your server settings are correct. If they are correct, try the following:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools, and choose Accounts...
- Click the Mail Tab
- Make sure your agtelco.com account is selected, and click the Properties button
- Click the Servers Tab
- Under the heading "Outgoing Mail Server", make sure the check box is NOT checked for "My server requires authentication"
- Click the Apply button
- Click the OK button
- Click the Close button, and you should now be able to perform a Send/Recv
Microsoft Outlook is asking for your username and password, but had not previously
Check your username and password, and verify that your server settings are correct. If they are correct, try the following:
- Open Microsoft Outlook
- Click Tools, and choose E-Mail Accounts...
- Choose View or change existing e-mail accounts
- Click the Next button
- Choose your e-mail account, anc click the Change... button
- Click the More Settings... button
- Click the Outgoing Server tab
- Uncheck the box marked "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
- Click the OK button
- Click the Next button
- Click the Finish button
- Click the Close button, and you should now be able to perform a Send/Receive
E-Mail will not send or receive
Check your username and password, and verify that your server settings are correct. If they are correct, try the following:
- Verify that your computer is connected to the internet
- The server could be temporarily down, please call 488-2100 to speak with Technical Support
